JAMMU, Apr 4: A vehicle lifter was arrested by police in this district on Tuesday.
A police spokesperson said that a complaint was lodged at Police Station Channi by one Rajesh Kohli of Adarsh Vihar, Sainik Colony, Jammu, stating therein that his e-rickshaw was stolen from outside his home.
On this, the police spokesperson said, a case FIR 52/2023 under section 379 of the IPC was registered at Police Station Channi Himmat and further investigation started.
He said, followed by this, special teams of Police Station Channi Himmat under the supervision of SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafri were constituted.]
“The teams led by SHO Channi Himmat Inspector Neeraj Choudhary rounded up an accused person, Dev Singh of Nanak Nagar Jammu at present Baan Vihar, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, for questioning,” said the police spokesperson.
He added that during sustained questioning, the accused accepted his involvement in the commission of crime and on his disclosure, the stolen e-rickshaw was recovered.
“Further investigation is on,” said the police spokesperson.
