JAMMU, Oct 22: Talab Tillo police under ‘Operation Avtar’ arrested a vehicle lifter and recovered stolen motorcycle from his possession.
As per police sources, on October 13 this year, a complaint was lodged by Ishan Sharma, son of Ramprakash of Purkhoo with Police Post Talab Tillo stating that some unknown persons have stolen his motorcycle.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 147/17 under Section 379 RPC was registered at Nowabad Police Station and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, several suspects were picked up and out of them one of the suspects broke down and confessed that he had stolen the motorcycle.
Police arrested the accused, who has been identified as identified as Sachin Kumar, son of late Rampaul, a resident of Bhadrore Pounichack. On his disclosure, police also recovered the stolen motorcycle.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other vehicle lifting cases.
Police team led by Incharge Talab Tillo Police Post SI Sumeet Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Nowabad Inspector Neeraj Bhagat, SDPO West Pranav Mahajan and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
