Vehicle lifter arrested, stolen motorcycle recovered

JAMMU, Feb 27: Chinore police under ‘Operation Chetak’ arrested a vehicle lifter and recovered stolen motorcycle from his possession.
As per police sources, on February 3 this year, a complaint was lodged by Anil Mehra, son of Raj Kumar of Durga Nagar Bantalab with Police Post Chinore stating that some unknown person has stolen his motorcycle bearing registration number JK02AR-9039 from Durga Nagar.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 39/18 under relevant Sections of law was registered at Police Station Domana and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, several suspects were rounded up and efforts were continued to recover the stolen motorcycle. Finally, police today arrested the accused, who has been identified as Ajay Sharma, son of Kamal Dev of Ghar Majoor, tehsil Chowki Choura, at present Durga Nagar, Bantalab. On his disclosure, police also recovered the stolen motorcycle.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by Incharge Chinore Police Post SI Rajesh Kumar arrested the vehicle lifted under the supervision of SHO Domana Inspector Sumit Sharma, SDPO Domana Sandeep Gupta, SP Rural Shivdeep Singh and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
