Vehicle lifting gang busted; 2 arrested with 6 stolen vehicles

JAMMU, Feb 12: Bhatindi Police busted vehicle lifting gang with the arrest of two accused along with 6 stolen vehicles.
As per police sources, complaints were lodged by Ankush Bhagat, son of Sukdev Raj of Purmandal District Samba regarding theft of motorcycle and Shaheen Akhtar, wife of Karmat Hussian of Dougian regarding theft of scooty with Police Post Bhatindi.
Acting over the complaints, cases under FIR Numbers 238/21 and 41/22 under relevant Sections were registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started.
During the course of the investigation, a team from Police Post Bhatindi led by PSI Mohammad Ilyas was constituted under the supervision of SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Nayat Ali and SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari.
The team with the help of CCTV cameras footages of the area and other technical aid along with timely human intervention, finally arrested two vehicle lifters, who were identified as Tofal Hussian, son of Mohammad Sharief of Ganjote Mahore District Reasi and Saquib Nazir, son of Nazir Ahmed of Malwath Banihal District Ramban.
On their disclosure, 6 stolen vehicles were recovered. Further questioning of the accused is going on. The overall operation was done under the supervision of SP City South Deepak Digra.
