JAMMU, Sept 4: Police in Jammu’s Sarwal area have dismantled a vehicle-lifting gang, recovering several stolen vehicles.
A police official said that an operation was launched on September 1, 2024 after a complaint was filed regarding the theft of a car from outside a residence.
Following the registration of FIR at Police Station Bakshi Nagar, he said, a team of Sarwal Police Post acted swiftly and using both technical tools and human intelligence traced out the stolen vehicle from Amb Gharota area within 24 hours.
Two suspects were apprehended and during investigation, they confessed to stealing the car from the Pattli area and selling it within their network, he said, adding that they also disclosed the locations of the stolen vehicles.
Acting on the information collected from them, the stolen car along with three additional cars and a scooty were recovered, he added.
