Vehicle owner involved in opium recovery case arrested

JAMMU, July 29: Gangyal Police arrested a vehicle owner, who was involved in opium recovery case.
As per police sources, On July 9 this year, a team from Police Station Gangyal during checking recovered 3 kilograms of opium from a truck and accordingly registered a case under FIR Number 77/2022 under section 8/18 NDPS Act was registered and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Gangyal led by SHO Inspector Joginder Singh was constituted under the supervision of SDPO South Sachit Sharma.
The team did hectic efforts and by using various aids finally generated the input regarding vehicle owner.
The vehicle owner namely Manpreet Singh alias Sodhi, son of late Joginder Singh of Ward Number 1 Simbal Camp was arrested.
During questioning, the accused confessed his involvement in the above case.
Moreover, during investigation it came to fore that above mentioned truck owner was part of the opium supply chain and several online payments were made by him regarding opium purchase.
Further investigation of the case is going on to know about his other accomplices and to break the drugs supply chain.
