POONCH, July 28: The police foiled smuggling bid and seized a vehicle loaded with the cattle in Malti area of Poonch during early hours today.
Official sources said that Police party of PS Poonch led by ASI Mohd Tariq during naka checking at Malti intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing Registration No. JK12C 2406 which was driven by one Mohd Shafiq, son of Abdul Aziz hailing from Seri Chowana, Poonch.
Another person Showket Hussain, son of Alam Din from Bagyal Dhara was also accompanying him. They were coming from Bagyal Dhara towards Surankote .
On checking, it was found that two bovine animals were loaded with utmost cruelty in starvation and they failed to produce any permission. On this, Case FIR No. 112/2023 U/S 188 IPC & 11 PCA Act got registered at PS Poonch and investigation has been taken up.
