JAMMU, Mar 19: Kanachack Police seized a vehicle having fake registration number plate and arrested its driver.
As per police sources, during checking at Sua Number 1, a team from Police Station Kanachack intercepted a Tata Indigo car bearing registration number JK12-8926, which was on its way to Jammu from Poonch.
During checking of vehicle it was found that the rear side registration number plate was missing and also the front side number plate was not having visible registration number and high security number plate was also missing, which created a doubt in the mind of cops.
During scrutiny of documents, it was found that the registration number of the said vehicle as shown in the RC and the registration number written on the front side number plate of the vehicle was of an another vehicle (Alto car).
During questioning of the driver, it came to fore that he was intentionally and fraudulently using the false documents/registration number plate of the vehicle and police arrested him.
The arrested driver was identified as Mohd Shafiq, son of Faiz Mohd of Ward Number 10 Tehsil Mankote District Poonch.
A case under FIR Number 32/2022 under Sections 420, 467, 468 and 471 IPC was registered against the arrested driver at Police Station Kanachack and further investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Kanachack Inspector Kunal Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Domana Sunil Singh and SP Rural Jammu Sanjay Sharma.
