DODA, June 11: Forest Department officials arrested one person along with a vehicle laden with illicit timber from Bhalessa range of Bhaderwah forest division here today.
As per officials, on specific inputs, a team of Forest Department officials led by Sameer Rishu Range Officer Bhallessa under the supervision of Divisional Forest Officer Bhaderwah Chander Shekhar laid a naka and intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration number JK06A-0216.
During checking, the officials seized illicit timber from the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle identified as Pankaj Kumar, son of Amar Singh, a resident of Sonwara Tehsil Gandoh has been arrested.
A case under section 36 Forest Act has been registered and investigation started.
