MENDHAR, Jan 19: The police today seized a Tata mobile vehicle loaded with PHE pipes and detained two persons including a driver in this connection.
A police spokesman said that acting on a specific information received by SDM Mendhar Sher Singh , a police party from Mendhar Police Station intercepted vehicle No. JK-12/5883 and seized it today near Mendhar. A total 59 PHE pipes of two different sizes (one inch and one and half inch) were loaded on the vehicle. The driver and his associate failed to produce any document/ indent regarding transportation of these goods from PHE store to the specific location. The driver told that the pipes were being taken to Bera village but he failed to produce any papers.
The police detained both the persons and started investigation. The police called concerned PHE staff for verification of the goods seized. Further investigation was in progress.
