BHADERWAH, Mar 29: In a major drive launched against violations of traffic rules and regulations, dozens of vehicles were challaned here today, whereas 3 bikes were seized and FIR was also lodged at Police Station Bhaderwah against the traffic violators.
“The District Police along with Traffic Police had laid special Nakas at various points and has also started patrolling in and around Bhaderwah town,” ASP Vinod Sharma said warning the vehicle operators of strict action against overloading, rash driving and other traffic violations.
He further said that traffic violators are responsible for fatal road accidents leading to the loss of precious lives. The ASP appealed parents who let their underage children to drive two-wheelers etc to refrain from such negligent acts.
Regarding the hit and run case of yesterday, he said that an FIR has been lodged against the biker who hit the lady and he was in Police custody and his bike was seized.
Meanwhile, a helpline number has also been released by the Police Department for general public to register complaints against traffic violators in Bhaderwah.
