JAMMU, May 18: Gangyal police busted vehicles lifting gang within 48 hours with the arrest of the kingpin of the gang and recovery of 6 stolen two wheelers from his possession.
As per police sources, on May 15 this year, a complaint was lodged by Ajay Kumar, son of Moti Lal of Gangyal with Police Station stating that some unknown person(s) have stolen his Royal Enfield motorcycle, which he had parked near Gangyal Chowk on May 2 this year.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 43/18 under Section 379 RPC was registered at Gangyal Police Station and hunt was launched to nab the accused.
During the course of investigation, police rounded up several suspects and finally nabbed the main accused.
The accused has been identified as Sunder Pal Singh alias Sunny Paddra, son of Ravinder Pal Singh, at present Jagti Colony, Nagrota.
Apart from stolen Royal Enfield motorcycle, police also recovered five other vehicles including 3 scooties, which the accused had stolen from different areas of the Jammu and adjoining areas.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain the involvement of arrested person in other theft cases.
Police team led by SHO Gangyal SI Nayat Ali made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas, SP South Sandeep Choudhary and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
