REASI, June 20: Katra Police seized the vehicles used in the business of illegal mining and got them fined of Rs 92,000 through Mining Department of District Reasi.
As per police sources, in a massive drive to curb the menace of illegal mining, Katra Police carried out a special drive and checking in the mines located in District Reasi.
Today, Katra Police seized the vehicles used in the business of illegal mining and fined Rs 92000 through Mining Department of District Reasi.
Keeping in view the orders of the District Magistrate Reasi to bar the use of heavy machinery in digging riverbeds, a checking campaign was launched in the mines of District Reasi.
The District Magistrate issued orders imposing restrictions on the use of illegal heavy machinery in mining and following the orders a surprise checking was conducted by SDPO Katra Kuljit Singh assisted by SHO Katra Inspector Sunil Sharma and Incharge Police Post Kakryal Inspector Ali Imran under the supervision of SP Katra Amit Bhasin and SSP Katra Rashmi Wazir.
