JAMMU, Oct 11: A verbal duel took place between some BJP leaders led by former Deputy CM, Kavinder Gupta and MLC Ch Vikram Randhawa with PDP leader Parvez Ahmed Wafa and his activists during the inauguration of a road work at village Langer in Gandhi Nagar Assembly Segment today.
As per reports, Kavinder Gupta along with MLC Randhawa and other BJP leaders and activists of the area had visited Langer village in near Kunjwani to kick start the construction of road for which Rs three crore were got sanctioned under languishing projects by the two leaders.
As they reached the area to get work started they were objected by PDP leader Parvez Wafa on the plea that they can’t kick start the work as the funds for the same were got released by them through former Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti. This resulted into heated exchanges between BJP leaders and PDP members.
Both Gupta and Randhawa while countering the PDP leader whose men also raised slogans against the BJP leaders said that the funds were got released by them under languishing projects as the local MLA and MLC and not by any one else. After the opposition and protest by some PDP men led by Wafa the BJP leaders had decided to leave the area without staring the work but the local residents came out of their houses requested them that this way the road will not be constructed and they had to suffer for some time more.
On the insistence of the people leaders kick- started the construction of road which was a long pending demand of the people of the area.
