JAMMU, Nov 13: Mohan Lal Gupta, a veteran RSS leader and son of late Hari Saran Gupta passed away today after a brief illness.
He was 89. Gupta was actively associated with RSS for the last 77 years and was involved in 1952 agitation “Ek Nishan, Ek Vidhan, Ek Pradhan”. He was jailed for 10 months along with Dr. Shyama Prashad Mukherjee and others in 1953.
He was an active member of RSS and was Sangh Chalak of Bishnah tehsil for 15 years. He was also instrumental in establishing full fledged RSS unit in Bishnah. He was the BJP president for Bishnah tehsil from 1996 to 1998 and was nominated as member of the BJP State Working Committee (1996 – 2000). Till his last breath, he was actively participating in RSS activities. He was honored for his life time contribution to RSS-BJP in August 2020.
