JAMMU, Aug 20:VHP has strongly criticized the statement of Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather for saying that the track of holy shrine of Swami Amarnath will not be widened.
Talking to reporters here today, VHP State president Dr Rama Kant Dubey while taking serious exception to the statement said it appears that Mr Rather has made the statement to please the separatists who are opposed to widening of the track and have created a lot of controversy over the issue.
He warned that if impediments were made in widening of the track by any body the VHP will go for nation wide agitation in 2013 and unlike the 2008 Amarnath land row the entire nation will join this agitation.
Dr Dubey while ridiculing the statements and hue and cry raised by separatists and other main stream organizations that the yatris were threatening the ecology in the Valley wanted to know is not the environment polluted by killing of hundreds of animals in the Valley daily especially during the festivals.
He said that the road be widened as per the directives of the Court so that the yatris don’t face problems in visiting the holy cave in future and urged the Government not to support the separatists demands in this regard.

The VHP and the other Hindu organizations will not tolerate this. He warned any controversy created on holy Amarnath pilgrimage will have serious repercussions and asked the separatists and other organizations of Kashmir not to meddle in the religious affairs of Hindus.
