VHP, Bajrang Dal perform Shaster Poojan

JAMMU, Oct 23: A grand function was organized by VHP and Bajrang Dal at Shakti Ashram here in connection with observance of Vijay Dashmi.
On the occasion, Shaster Poojan was also performed by the VHP and Bajrang Dal activists besides a hawan and pooja was also held.
Dr Rama Kant Dubey patron State VHP was the chief guest on the occasion while the function was also attended by  VHP State president, Leela Karan Sharma, Surinder Aggarwal, Rajesh Gupta, vice president, Shakti Dutt Sharma , general secretary, Ravti Raman, Samparakh Parmukh, Sudershan Khajuria and Rakesh Sharma of BD.
In his address Dr Dubey threw light on the background of Shaster Poojan and said that the Pandav’s who were in exile for 12 years had kept their arms  hidden on a tree so that no one should know about them.
He said on the completion of exile on the day of Vijay Dashmi they (Pandav’s) Performed poojan of the arms by bringing them out of the tree and since then the Shaster Poojan has become a tradition on Vijay Dashmi.
Dr Dubey said that Hindus worship Shastras that give knowledge and Shaster which protect the society.
He urged the people to remain united and fight against the atrocities being committed on the deprived people in the society. He stressed that these people should be shown sympathy and social service projects be taken up in hand for their welfare.
Dr Dubey said that we all should work for unity of the nation and also remain vigilant against the divisive forces. He while cautioning against such forces said that Satsang, Hawan and social services is the best medium to unite the society.
