JAMMU, Nov 12: VHP has taken serious exception to the statement of separatist leader Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani and accused him of inducing people to wage a war against the nation by his highly objectionable and controversial statements of launching an armed struggle against India.
In a statement issued here today, VHP State chief, Dr Rama Kant Dubey said that this was highly objectionable statement and the Indian Government should see the writing on the wall and arrest Geelani under National Security Act (NSA) as his statement tantamount to waging a war against the nation.
Dr Dubey, while reacting to the statement said that VHP will not tolerate this and its cadres will defeat the designs of the separatists who are the agents of Pakistan and were hell bent in the Talibanisation of the Valley.
He said that Geelani’s statement has come at such a time when there are reports that ISI was trying to deploy Talibans in the armed struggle in Kashmir and Government of India should take this statement seriously and act against the separatist leader by putting him behind the bars.
He demanded Geelani be interrogated that what transpired between him and Tariq Aziz and he should be debarred from entering J&K.
Meanwhile, BJP Muslim Morcha State president Mushtaq Ahmed Norabadi has also taken the serious exception to the Geelani’s statement saying that Kashmiris are already fed up with 24 year long gun culture which has given them nothing but death and destruction. He said the people will not allow the gun to rule roost again as they have seen through the game plan of separatists during last 24 years.
The Morcha president also took NC and PDP to task for making controversial statements and raking up the issues like finality of accession or land row just to exploit the people for their votes by keeping an eye on next year’s Assembly elections in the State.
He said the people of the State have already suffered a lot with their negative politics and urged the both parties to be realistic and not to mislead the people by raking up emotive issues.
Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) general secretary, spokesman of the party and MLC Ravinder Sharma has also severely criticized the statement of separatist leader in which he had said that the use of gun as a means to resolve Kashmir issue.
Strongly condemning the statement, Mr Sharma said that no civilized society or region has justified violence or killing of innocent people for resolving any issue. Such statements need to be rejected with contempt it deserves and condemned in the strongest possible words, he added.
Mr Sharma said that such statements are aimed at vitiating the atmosphere of peace and harmony and pushing the State back in the era of violence and blood shed which brought lot of destruction and miseries to the people of Kashmir. The people of Valley have rejected the gun cult and secured peace after lot of sacrifices for a better future and would not allow such designs to succeed, he added.
