JAMMU, Dec 5: Vishwa Hindu Parisahd (VHP) has demanded enactment of a law for construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya.
The demand was made by VHP State president, Advocate, Leela Karan Sharma while talking to reporters along with Sant Ashtosh Giri Ji Maharaj here, today.
He said the VHP J&K is under constant pressure from the Hindus of the State in this regard.
The VHP leader said that entire Hindu Samaj right from 1528 has been struggling for the construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya and it has been their legitimate demand. In this regard the negotiations were also held from time to time to reach a settlement over the issue so that the hurdles in construction of Ram temple are removed. But every time the talks failed to yield desired results, he added.
He said the devotees of Lord Ram in the State and Sant Samaj is also making an appeal to Government to bring a law for construction of a grand Ram temple at Ayodhya and they have appealed the VHP to convey their feelings to Union Government in this regard also.
He said since 1950 efforts of settlement of the dispute over the issue was also made by the court of law and the Opposition parties did not leave any stone unturned in Apex Court to defer the date of hearing . However, the court has given the date of January this year for hearing, he added.
He said the only solution to the issue is construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya through the Parliament legislation.
Leela Karan said on December 16 a grand religious conference (Dharam Sabha) will be held at Parade Jammu which will be addressed by Jagat Guru Ramanandacharya Ji Maharaj and Swami Hansdevacharya Maharaj.
VHP State secretary, Abhishekh Gupta, Goaraksha Samiti head, Raj Kumar, VHP State convener, Naveed Soodan, Omkar Sharma, Kapil Gupta and others were present in the press conference.
