JAMMU, June 12: Vishav Hindu Parishad (VHP) and several other Hindu organizations today warned the Jammu Development Authority (JDA) that in case it failed to restore the land to the genuine owners at Gole Gujral whose houses and shops were demolished by it recently without any reason and logic, it will be forced to launch a massive agitation.
Talking to reporters here, today, VHP general secretary, Dr Sham Lal Gupta demanded immediate rehabilitation of these people failing which they will be forced to take extreme step.
Mr Gupta said these people have been forced to pass sleepless nights under open sky in this scorching heat and in case immediate steps were not taken to rehabilitate these people on the land they have purchased and payment of compensation for the damage is delayed they will resort to self immolation.
He warned that the sole responsibility will be of the Government and the authorities concerned specifically the Director Land Records and VC JDA.
Mr Gupta said a meeting of the various Hindu organizations was held here earlier in which grave concern was expressed over the JDA action against the bonafide residents of Gole Gujral area.
He said  the Hindu families whose houses were constructed at Khasra Number 746  were having valid documents and to strike a balance and please their political bosses, the JDA authorities demolished their pacca houses and shops while acting against the land grabbers who had constructed their Kacha houses on JDA land in the area.
He said despite showing documents and revenue records to the JDA demolishing team they took no cognizance of the same and demolished the houses of these hapless people which has generated a lot of resentment among the Hindu bodies in the State.
Mr Gupta said even the Deputy Commissioner Jammu has authenticated that the papers of land submitted by these residents are genuine and Director Land Records, JDA too has maintained the same in his report.
He said the authorities have been approached many times but till date they have failed to restore the land to the genuine owners and also pay compensation to them for loss.
He said besides the representatives of VHP, the meeting was attended by Bajrang Dal, Shiv Sena Hindustan, Rashtravadi Shiv Sena, Hindu Shiv Sena, Kranti Dal, Sri Ram Sena and Jammu State Morcha (JSM).
