VHP shows concern over illegal settlements near defence camps

JAMMU, Feb 26: State VHP president, Leela Karan Sharma expressed his grave concern over making of foothold by certain organizations in the name of NGOs and coming up of illegal settlements around defence areas.
Talking to reporters here, today he said the recent attack by militants on Army camp at Sunjwan in which five Army personnel attained martyrdom while one civilian also lost his life and subsequent stone pelting on the Army camp, raising of anti-national slogans and displaying posters for selling plots only for one community that too on State land are all the part of a big conspiracy.
He said if these anti-national activities are not immediately checked, it will take an ugly turn damaging the age old communal harmony in Jammu and its surrounding areas. The Government should immediately deport illegal immigrant Bangladeshi and Rohingyas settled near the around all sensitive installations, he added.
Leela Karan said when under law no construction can be permitted to be made within 50 meters from the boundary of the defence installation, how these people have settled over there.
Sharma called upon the Centre and State Governments to immediately deport all illegal migrant and remove all constructions made around the defence installations.
The Government has emboldened the stone pelters by withdrawing more than nine thousands FIRs against them and registered the FIR against Major Aditya and other defence personnel, he added.
The VHP showed strong resentment and warned the Government to take the corrective steps failing which the people of Jammu may not be forced to resort to agitation. Sharma also condemned the attack on the police personnel guarding Cherar-e- Sharif Shrine and the house of Hurriat leaders. He conveyed his condolence to the brave families of the persons martyred yesterday.
Abhishek Gupta, general secretary of organization, Naveen Sudan Sanyojak Bajrangdal, Premshankar, organization secretary, Balkrishan , Sukhram , and Karan Gupta were also present in the press conference.
