JAMMU, Mar 2: Jammu and Kashmir BJP general secretary and former MLC, Vibodh Gupta, along with OBC Morcha national secretary, Rashpal Verma, Morcha J&K president, Sunil Prajapati, vice president, Neelam Virdi, Morcha general secretary, Raj Kumar Tarkhan, and other office bearers and district presidents, released a poster with a pamphlet containing details of various schemes of the Modi Government meant for the OBC community.
Vibodh Gupta, while speaking on the occasion, said that the OBCs in Jammu and Kashmir had been discriminated against and humiliated by the successive Governments of Congress, NC, and other parties for decades.
Reservation for OBCs was granted to the community in the entire country except J&K.
“The Narendra Modi Government felt the pain of the miseries of the OBCs and took effective steps to pave the way for political reservation for them here. The Union Government had constituted a Commission to look into the plight of the OBCs, their problems and demands.
On the recommendations of the Commission, a bill was introduced and passed in Parliament by the Modi Government for the benefit of this community, and the process for their reservation in Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies is being undertaken in J&K”, asserted Vibodh.
OBC Morcha national secretary, Rashpal Verma, who is also the convenor of OBC Morcha Sampark Abhiyan for five Parliamentary constituencies, said that whatever is being done by the Modi Government for the OBCs is highly appreciable, and the community should stand with the BJP, support it, and contribute to the victory of forthcoming elections with a thumping majority.
Sunil Prajapati said that the benefits of all welfare schemes will now be availed by the OBC community in Jammu and Kashmir, which will uplift them socially, economically, and politically. He also informed that ‘Samajik Sammelan’ and ‘Yuva Samvad’ are the two important programmes to be undertaken in the UT in the coming days.
Morcha state secretary Shamsher Prajapati conducted the proceedings of this poster release programme.
