UDHAMPUR, July 14: To have a grassroots level overview of day to day issues faced by the public, Juhi Manhas Pathania, Vice Chairperson, DDC Udhampur, along with DDC Ramnagar, Mool Raj and BDC Parli Dhar, Neelam Devi held a series of interactive meets at BDO office, Khoon, Saloh, Kogharmarh and Pinger.
The meet was attended by PRIs, concerned Government officers as well as prominent people of Block Khoon.
Tehsildar Majalta, Uttam Singh and Tehsildar Ramnagar, Srinath Suman, were also present during the programmes.
The Vice Chairperson also kick started work on Saloh Bridge to Thandapani Road under NABARD. The work on the said missing link shall provide viable Road connectivity to as many as 10,000 people of the area and involves a cost of Rs 2.71crore. It shall facilitate their travel upto holy shrine of Sri Pingla Mata.
While interacting with people, she underscored the need for a responsive and public friendly administration. She said that the Government is striving hard to take the district towards development by utilizing its potential in different sectors and all possible measures are being made to provide the Govt services at the doorsteps of the general public.
She urged the PRIs to play a crucial role in the development of their areas and ensure that all the developmental works being executed in their respective jurisdictions are completed within the set times while adhering to quality parameters.
With regard to the transparent functioning of the line departments, she stressed upon all officers to direct their field functionaries to ensure integrity while serving the general public, besides asked them to ensure strict action against shortcomings /laplacies, if found.
During the meeting, PRIs members and locals raised various issues and demands regarding water, electricity, sports, educational, health, infrastructure amenities including construction of Khoon to Neldi road, meeting shortage of staff at GMS Babey, early clearing of pending liabilities under MGNREGA, start of works u/FC, demand for electric poles, water supply and immediate repairing of hand pumps.
She gave a patient hearing to the issues raised during the meeting and assured them of proper redress of all their demands.
Specifically talking about the water shortage, she called for close liaison between the civil and mechanical wing of Jal Shakti Deptt so that proper supply of water is made available to the people in these days of scorching heat.
