SRINAGAR, Apr 1: The traditional Vichar Nag Yatra was started for the first time since the mass migration of Pandits from Valley after a gap of 24 years on Navreh Amawasiya with the personal efforts of Samajik Vikas Sansthan (SVS).
A large number of devotees among whom some had come from Jammu also participated in the yatra. They held the pooja -archana in a traditional way at the shrine which was fully renovated and cleaned by the activists of Sansthan.
It may be recalled that as per a tradition Navreh Amawasiya was celebrated here every year prior to mass exodus of Pandits and devotees from length and breadth of the Valley were participating in the same.
However the holy shrine remained closed during the turmoil period and it was in shambles as it suffered a lot of damage during this period. But with the efforts of SVS the shrine was fully renovated last year.
The office bearers of SVS, S L Bhan, its vice chairman, M K Pandita, general secretary, Shah Ji Bhat and others were present in the function. The renovation work was undertaken under the supervision of  Kuldeep Raina chairman of the Sansthan.
