Victim family seeks arrest of absconding persons

JAMMU, July 22: A couple, who was assaulted by a group of six persons, has sought immediate arrest of the absconding persons.
Addressing a press conference, Neena, wife of Swaran Singh, a resident of village Dhanu said that on July 16, she along with her husband, son, daughter, bhabhi and her two children were heading towards Jammu from their native village, when six persons travelling in the Creta car assaulted her and her husband.
“Me and my husband were shifted to Sarwal Hospital by the police, from where both were referred to GMCH Jammu as I had received head injury”, she said, adding that her husband is still undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Police arrested two boys, but four other boys are roaming freely, she said.
“We met SSP Jammu also and he assured that all the boys will be behind the bars by Thursday, but till date all the four boys are roaming freely without any fear of police action”, Neena added.
She once again requested the higher authorities in the Police Department to arrest the remaining four boys and provide justice to the aggrieved family.
When contacted Incharge Chinore police post SI Rajesh Verma said that two persons namely Bunty and Amandeep were taken into custody on the same day of the incident and hunt is going on to arrest the absconding persons.
“The absconding persons will be behind the bars soon”, he said, adding that the vehicle has been seized and further investigation into the case registered under Section 307 RPC is going on.
