Victim’s wife held for stabbing in Vijaypur

SAMBA, Dec 13: The police has arrested the wife of  newly married GRP jawan who was stabbed near Suankha Morh in Vijaypur late last evening while the youth  involved in the stabbing has been identified.
Additional SP Samba, Dr Kaushal Sharma disclosed that on the basis of call details of the mobile phone of the wife- Prabjeet Kour of the victim, Jasbir Singh of Dayala Chak, the police came to know that till last evening after her marriage about four days back, there were nearly 60 calls from the same number. Victim’s husband gave the cell number of his wife pointing his clear cut involvement in the offence. Even during the travel also some calls were from the same number.
Dr Kaushal said that the prime accused has been identified as one Pawaneet Singh, a cable operator in Chatha Pind area of Jammu. He said during the day both husband and wife had gone to Perh Devta near Nagrota to pay obeisance. The husband wished to stay at in-law’s house at Chatha during the night as it had gone late and Dayala Chak was nearly 60 kms from Jammu. The wife insisted to go to Dayala Chak. The SP said as per the statement of the victim, she dodged him many times while talking to somebody on her cell phone and he was observing this for the last two days. While moving on bike towards Dalaya Chak, a youth waived hand and asked for lift on bike up to Vijaypur near 17 Miles (Kanthpur). As he ignored the signal, the wife insisted that youth was known to her and asked to offer him lift.
The husband stopped the bike and gave lift. After covering some distance, the wife asked to go out for attending nature’s call and in between the youth attacked Jasbir with sharp edged weapon. Later, both fled on the bike leaving behind Jasbir in pool of blood. The SP said that condition of Jasbir Singh was stable while girl was arrested from Chatha area today. She has been placed under interrogation. The Police teams are conducting raids to nab  Pawaneet Singh and his brother  who also figured in the case. They will be behind the bars shortly, he maintained.
