SRINAGAR, Aug 29: Vigilance Organization has booked officers and officials of Municipal Corporation Srinagar for showing criminal silence towards raising of commercial structure on fake and forged documents in 2014.
The case was registered after a Joint Surprise Check by the Vigilance Organization Kashmir on the complaint lodged by one Shaft Ahmad Malik against officers/officials of SMC regarding commission of violation of building permission by one Showkat Ahmad Parray (beneficiary ) in construction of house at Sathurashahi Srinagar.
During the JSC, it was surfaced that the officers/officials of SMC in league with Showkat Ahmad Parray, had intentionally and deliberately allowed the illegal construction of commercial complex instead of residential house number 101 at Sathurashahi Srinagar under the grab of floods of 2014. The concerned officials did not act in time and had shown criminal silence which paved way for the beneficiary to raise commercial structure on the fake and forged documents.
This act of officers/officials of SMC discloses commission of offence punishable under section 5(1) (d) of PC Act r/w 5(2) J&K PC Act Samvat 2006 and 120-B RPC. Subsequently, a case FIR number 30/2018 P/S VOK was registered and investigation has been taken up.
