JAMMU, Sept 29: After registering a case against Tehsil Supply Officer and Storekeeper of Department of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Rajouri for misappropriation of Government ration worth more than Rs 50 lakh, Vigilance Organization raided residences of the accused persons and seized cash as well some official record pertaining to the case.
A case has been registered against Abdul Majid (TSO) and Mohd Aslam ( Storekeeper) of Main Store FCS&CA Rajouri and others vide FIR number 32/2018 u/s 5(1)(c)(d) read with section 5(2) J&K PC Act Svt 2006 & 409,120-B RPC at P/S VOJ.
The instant case was registered on the basis of Joint Surprise Check conducted in main store of FCS&CA in Rajouri and other places into the allegations pertaining to misappropriation of huge quantity of ration worth lakhs of rupees received from the Government for issuance to APL/BPL/AAY categories, being misappropriated by concerned authorities in FCS&CA in District Rajouri.
During the course of JSC, record was perused and on spot physical verification of stores also conducted. It came to fore that Abdul Majid, TSO FCS&CA Rajouri & Mohd Aslam, Storekeeper Main Store FCS&CA Rajouri, in connivance with ration dealers, misappropriated subsidized Govt ration to the tune of Rs 50,13,752.31 . They also fraudulently drawn an amount of Rs 3, 31,558.83 as carriage/commission/unloading charges and caused total loss of Rs 53, 45, 311.14 to the State exchequer. It is also found that huge quantity of ration was embezzled directly from the Govt Main Food Store Rajouri and record in the main store and at various other places has been manipulated by the alleged accused persons.
Vigilance organization registered a case under relevant sections of law and also conducted simultaneous raids with the help of local police /magistrates at the residences of accused persons in Rajouri, Kandi and office/store in Rajouri. During the process, cash worth Rs 5, 82,000 was recovered from residence of Storekeeper and some official record was also recovered from residence of TSO Rajouri. All relevant record/suspicious documents which have been recovered from various locations were seized on spot in presence of independent witnesses. Detailed and in-depth scrutiny of the seized record will be carried out during further course of investigation by sleuths of vigilance organization.
