JAMMU, Dec 15: Vigilance Organization today presented two challans against the then Director IPP Inder Singh Wazir, the then Accounts Officer Vikram Dewan and Harinder Mohan Singh and Ghulam Ahmad Bhat, owners of a company who supplied steel and wooden furniture in the year 1998.
According to the FIR No.79/1999, the accused public servants by abusing their official position made purchases of steel furniture during the year 1998 to the tune of Rs 6,91,150 on exhorbitant rates. In this way, they caused direct loss of Rs 2,67,000 to the State exchequer. Accordingly, a case FIR No.79/1999 was registered against them.
As per the FIR No.80/1999, these accused persons made purchases of wooden furniture to the tune of Rs 20,70,180 during the year 1998 on exorbitant rates and caused direct loss to the tune of Rs 6,13,263 to the State exchequer.
After completion of investigation, Vigilance presented challan in the Court of Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu against then Director IPP Inder Singh Wazir and then Accounts Officer Vikram Dewan and Harinder Mohan Singh and Ghulam Ahmad Bhat.
