Vigilance probe into CCBL malfunctioning

JAMMU, Apr 26: The Government has asked State Vigilance Organization to conduct high level enquiry into alleged malfunctioning and mismanagement of public money during two consecutive terms of Dinesh Gupta as Chairman of Citizen’s Cooperative Bank Ltd, Jammu.
A formal request for the Vigilance enquiry has been made by the State Cooperative Department on the complaints submitted by Registrar Cooperative Societies, J&K Jammu.
The Cooperative Department has also forwarded copies of these complaints, letter No RCS/B&F/CCB-21/1031, dated 26-02-2016 and letter No RCS/B&F/CCB-III-insp-o6/1088, dated 16-03-2016 to the Vigilance Organization.
“Allegations levelled in both the communications are serious and need an in-depth inquiry/investigation,” says the letter by Cooperative Department, written to Secretary, State Vigilance Organization, J&K, Jammu.
The Cooperative Department has also forwarded a copy of this letter to the Registrar Cooperative Societies with the request to get in touch with the Vigilance Organization and furnish the progress of the case time to time.
As per the letter, No.Coop/B&F/46/2015, dated 22-04-2016, high level Vigilance probe has been sought into malfunctioning and mismanagement of public money during Dinesh Gupta’s tenure as Chairman CCBL Jammu from 2007-2010 and 2012 till date.
