Vigilance produces challan in 2 cases

SRINAGAR, Dec 27: In two separate cases, Vigilance Organization Kashmir today produced challan against the then AEE Doodhpathri Development Authority Budgam and the then Director, Joint Director and others of CA&PD Department, Kashmir.
Challan in case FIR number 35/2014 against accused public servant Mushtaq Ahmad Tenga of Al-Noor Colony Chanapora, Srinagar, the then AEE Doodhpathri Development Authority, Budgam, was produced in the Court of Special Judge Anti-corruption Srinagar, presided by Yeshpaul Bourny.
The case was registered on the basis of a written complaint lodged by a Contractor Mohammad Yousuf Mir who alleged that Mushtaq Ahmad Tenga was using dilly dallying tactics for releasing the payment against executed work and finally demanded bribe of Rs.5, 000/- from his for clearing the bill payment. After registration of the case, a trap was laid by the Vigilance sleuths and the accused AEE was caught red handed while demanding and accepting the bribe from the complainant.
After the accord of Government sanction for launching prosecution, the challan of the case was produced before the Court of Special Anti-corruption Judge Srinagar today for Judicial determination. The next date of hearing has been fixed on 07.02.2017.
Meanwhile, the Vigilance also produced challan against the then Director, Joint Director, Supervisor, and Storekeeper of CA&PD Department, Kashmir
Challan of Case FIR NO: 27/2010 against the accused public servants and proprietor of Kashmir Pulses Flour Mills Pampore (private person) was produced in the Court of Additional Special Anti-corruption Judge Pulwama presided by Parvaiz Hussain Kachroo
The case was registered on the outcome of the Joint Surprise Check conducted into the allegations of misappropriation of food grains by Kashmir Pulses Roller Flour Mill, Kadlabal Pampore in connivance with officers/officials of CAPD Department Kashmir.
During the investigation, it was revealed that during the Joint Surprise Check during the period 2007-2008, a substantial quantity of 7159 Qtls of Wheat, 113 Qtls of Atta and 228 Qtls of Wheat bran, besides, 25802 empty Gunny bags were found misappropriated in connivance with officers/officials of CA&PD Department, Kashmir.
The investigation of the case was finally concluded as proved against the accused public servants as such, the Challan of the case was produced. The next date of the case has been fixed on 02.02.2017.
