SRINAGAR, Dec 19: Vigilance Organization today presented challan against the former Panchayat Secretary (VLW) of Halqa Saidpora Baramulla, who was caught red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 5000.
The challan under Section 5(1) (d) r/w 5(2) PC Act, Svt-2006 and Section 161 RPC, was presented before the court of Ist District and Session Judge Baramulla.
The accused, namely Nizam-ud-Din Sheikh, then VLW Halqa Saidipora, Baramulla and resident of Muzbagh Sopore, had demanded and accepted an amount of Rs 5000 as illegal gratification from the complainant Pervaiz Ahmad Dar of Nowgam Tragpora Rafiabad Baramulla for signing the memo bill and completion certificate in respect of work executed under CDF scheme by the latter.
