JAMMU, Dec 17: Vigyan Parishad (J&K), Chapter of Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA), organized one-day State Level Camp and prize distribution ceremony of Vidhyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) 2023 for the students of Class VI to XI at CSIR-IIIM Jammu, here today.
Twelve top students were selected through rigorous procedure from 120 students, who were initially shortlisted from nearly 1650 registered students at the preliminary stage, for their onward participation in National Level Talent Search Camp.
Prof B N Tripathi, Vice Chancellor SKUAST Jammu, who was chief guest of the function, shared his thoughts about the existing scientific temper amongst the scientists working across various disciplines of science and technology in the country. He also projected the value of Science in our lives and encouraged the students to work hard for the development of this Nation and for its self reliance.
Dr Zabeer Ahmed, Director CSIR-IIIM, in his message, expressed that CSIR IIIM will always remain as front runner in organising such events.
The programme was presided over by President Vigyan Parishad J&K, Prof Rajni Kant, Vice Chancellor, RNTU Bhopal. He apprised the audience about the National Level Competitive Examinations which are available for those students who are willing to take up Science as a career. He also conveyed that VVM examination has, in order to felicitate young budding scientists, continued with a practice of awarding students for their first, second and third rank with a cash prize of Rs 5000, Rs 3000 and Rs 2000 respectively, i.e. first three from each class, along-with mementos and certificates.
Tinny Sawhney, VVM Coordinator, presented the brief report of the VVM 2023 and Jyoti Sharma conducted proceedings of the event. Samir Vohra presented the formal vote of thanks.
On this occasion, RRL High School was declared as the Nodal School for VIBHA activities, which is first of its kind in J&K.
