JAMMU, Dec 15: Vijay Sharma has been re-elected as president of Jammu University Non-Gazetted Employees Union, elections of which were held, yesterday.
He defeated his opponent Rakesh Sharma with a huge margin of 400 votes.
For the post of vice-president and general secretary, Suraj Parkash and Banarsi Lal, respectively, were declared elected while Ashok Kumar was elected as joint secretary, Vidhya Lal as organizing secretary, Raj Kumar as publicity secretary and Swarn Singh as cashier.
Om Parkash, Abdul Majid, Bodh Raj, Mohinder Singh, Bal Krishan and Surinder Singh were elected as the executive body members.
NGEU also conducted its elections in Bhaderwah Campus and elected Zakir Hussain and Sanjeev Singh as the executive members. The duo has been given all the powers to take decisions in respect of issues of the employee of Bhaderwah Campus.
