KATHUA, Jan 29: ‘Khantalu’ – a collection of children poems in Dogri language by well-known Dogri litterateur Vijay Sharma, was released in a simple but an impressive function at Kathua, here today.
Vijay Sharma already has 11 books to his credit that have been written in Dogri and Hindi languages. However his main focus has been on children literature. He is also recipient of Bal Sahitya Award from Sahitya Akademi New Delhi in the year 2019 for his children’s’ poetry collection ‘Larjan’ in Dogri.
‘Khantalu’ that means jasmine flowers, is a collection of poems which are quite informative for children. Apart from the message therein in every poem, a glimpse of humor is also visible at some places, so that the interest of the children remains intact. The book has been written in simple language and is an effort to increase the interest for Dogri language in the future generation with the hope that the fragrance of these poems will attract children as well as adults to read them.
Apart from a large number of literature lovers, local litterateurs also participated in the programme like Dr Usha Monga, Tilak Sumbadiya, Khajur Singh, Madan Lal Toofan, Shyamlal Khajuria, Shashi Pal Sharma and others.
