SAMBA, Nov 2: Acting on a tip off about gambling in the area, a police party of PS Vijaypur headed by Inspector, Rajinder Sharma, SHO Vijaypur under the close supervision of S. Baljeet Singh, SDPO Vijaypur raided the gambling spot and arrested six gamblers from Ward No. 04, Vijaypur along with stake money of Rs. 16,300/- and playing cards.
The gamblers were identified as Hera Lal, son of Ram Niwas, Darsh Ram, son of Bharat Ram, Dadu Ram son of Sham Lal, Sita Ram son of Ram Lal, Kashi Ram son of Shabi Lal and Rakesh son of Ram Krishan, all residents of Chhatishgarh and presently at Vijaypur.
Taking cognizance into the matter, all the gamblers were booked under Section 13 of Gambling Act at P/S Vijaypur.
Police said that District Police Samba under the overall supervision of Dr. Koshal Sharma, SSP Samba has arrested 19 gamblers along with stake money of Rs 42,575/- during the last five days and further committed to wipe out social crime from the society.
