Vijaypur police seizes 89 nips of JK Excise, arrests one

SAMBA, May 25: Vijaypur Police during a raid at a dhaba near Matador stand Vijaypur today seized 89 nips/pouches of 250 ml each of J&K Excise and arrested the owner of the dhaba Manoj Kumar, son of Ram Kishore of Gho Rakwala, tehsil Ramgarh in this regard.
The raid was conducted by a police party of Vijaypur Police led by SHO P/S Vijaypur under the close supervision of SDPO Vijaypur on the basis of information given by DSB officials regarding the sale of illicit liquor. The raid was conducted on the directives of SSP Samba Anil Magotra.
In this connection a case FIR No. 75/2017 U/S 48 (a) (f) Excise Act stands registered in P/S Vijaypur and investigation taken up.
In another case Samba Police has arrested one persons for stealing two oxen from the residence of Vakeel Singh, S/o Teja Singh of Monohar Gopala tehsil and district Samba. After Vakeel Singh made a written complaint in PS Samba a case FIR No 83/2017 U/S 379 RPC was registered in the Police Station. To trace out the oxen and affect the arrest of the thieves a police team of Police Post Rakhamtbali headed by SI Deepak Bharti under the supervision of Dy SP Headquarters Samba raided the village Jhang and arrested the two thieves namely Jakkar Hussain S/o Noor Hussain of Jhag, tehsil Ramgarh. Police has started the investigation and the arrest of other accused involved in the crime will also be affected soon.
