Vikar asks youth to avail benefits of self-employment schemes

RAMBAN, Aug 19: Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) in collaboration with the National Minority Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC) organized a one day awareness camp to aware the unemployed youth about the self-employment programme and schemes launched by the Government.
Minister of State for Technical Education, Power, CAPD and RDD, Vikar Rasool Wani was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister stressed upon the unemployed youth of the area to come forward and avail the benefits of the various schemes being offered by the JKEDI and NMDFC for establishing their business and employment generating units. He lauded the efforts of department for organizing awareness camp in a remote Tehsil like Banihal for providing information of various employment generating schemes at the door steps of people.
Earlier, Regional Nodal Officer JKEDI, Dr. Majid Manzoor Khan, gave detailed resume of the programmes and schemes launched by the State as well as Central Government. He informed that JKEDI and NMDFC offer soft loans for projects costing up to Rs 10 lakh.
The concessional financial assistance is available for any commercially viable and technically feasible venture for people with annual family income not exceeding Rs. 81,000  in rural areas and Rs. 1,03,000 in urban areas.
Department also made on spot registration of unemployed youth under various schemes and unemployed youth expressed keen interest in various scheme of the agencies.
