BANIHAL, May 27: Minister of State for Technical Education and Power Vikar Rasool today laid the foundation stone of additional accommodation of High School Batroo. The additional accommodation is being constructed at an estimated cost Rs. 14.80 lakh under RMSA. The executing agency of the project is PWD.
Mr. Vikar Rasool said that the Coalition Government is committed to equitable development of every nock and corner of the State especially far flung areas. He said that Tehsil Banihal has witnessed an era of development during the last five years. He said large number of developmental projects including roads, bridges and school buildings were underway in the area.
Referring to power sector, he said that a remarkable achievement has been registered in power sector, adding that un-electrified hamlets of the area would be electrified. He said for strengthening infrastructural in health, education and other sectors in area, a comprehensive proposal has been formulated.
Various deputation from Pogal and Paristan area called on the Minister at Dak Bunglow Ukhral and apprised him of their problems.
The deputationists projected charter of demands which include opening of college in Ukhral, up-gradation of local high schools, blacktopping of roads, disbursement of land compensation and pending payment under MGNREGA etc.
Responding to the demands, the Minister said that their genuine demands would be looked into and redressed on priority.
