JAMMU, Feb 27: Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today kick-started construction of lane and drain at Sector No-6, Nanak Nagar in Gandhi Nagar Assembly Segment in the presence of Corporator, Surjeet Choudhary.
While speaking on the occasion, Randhawa said that the construction of lane and drain was the long pending demand of the locals of the area and was brought to his notice few days back and today work has been started. He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is committed to provide all basic amenities to the people which, includes proper connectivity and sanitation.
Randhawa said that in the absence of the lane and drain the water was being logged around the houses of the people producing mosquitoes which can further spread malaria, dengue and other diseases. He told the people that the lane and drain would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 14 lakh which would be released from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) of the MLC.
He assured the people that all other developmental works would be completed in phased manner as there is no dearth of the funds.
Randhawa urged the people to maintain communal harmony in the area and don’t fall prey to rumours which are circulated to disrupt the communal fabric of the region. He further assured the people that the country is in safe hands and its citizens need not to worry regarding their safety. He said that nation is having a bold and capable leader, Narendra Modi as Prime Minister who is committed national cause.
The locals complimented the MLC for carrying out the developmental works in the area and extended BJP full support in the coming future.
