JAMMU, May 8: Member of Legislative Council (MLC) and senior leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Vikramaditya Singh today met Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti to apprise her of his extensive tour of mountainous areas of Bhaderwah and Kishtwar district. He spoke about the public concerns of unsafe roads, scarcity of potable water and other issues confronting the residents of these areas.
During his meeting with Chief Minister, the MLC sought her attention towards huge tourism potential in this region. He emphasized on the need of effective exploring tourism potential of these areas to improve socio-economic conditions of the residents of this mountainous belt, which has huge natural resources also.
Vikramaditya Singh also stressed the need to fully explore the tourism potential of Bhaderwah region, known as Chotta Kashmir as it can be very well connected with both Chamba in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab through Bani-Basohli road. Tourists will have free flow into this Valley creating business and employment for the local communities.
Vikramaditya Singh said that Bhaderwah has potential to be developed as most attractive tourist destination of the country due to its scenic beauty and geographical location. He further said that belt of erstwhile Doda district-comprising Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar has huge potential of tourism.
The Chief Minster appreciated the concern and assured the MLC that measures will be taken. The MLC also handed over the memorandum to CM pertaining to the multiple challenges and difficulties faced the drivers, cleaners and owners of Tankers.
