JAMMU, Sept 7: Senior leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Member of the Legislative Council (MLC), Vikramaditya Singh today demanded that Dogra certificates must be issued to Jammu youth as it is their birth right.
In a statement issued here today, Vikramaditya Singh said that he fully agrees and supports the views expressed by Minister of State (MoS) in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Dr Jitender Singh, regarding restoration of Dogra certificates for Jammu youth.
He said that this certificate was issued primarily to Dogra youth living along the border belt in order to facilitate their recruitment in the armed forces.
“The Dogra certificate allows the youth certain relaxation in recruitment norms so as to enable their joining. This has been a long outstanding demand by the Dogras of Jammu”, Vikramaditya said and added that he would use his good offices to impress upon the Government to give this matter serious attention.
