JAMMU, Dec 6: Maintaining that ex-servicemen are the great pillars of society and are upright in their dealings while leading an honest disciplined life, senior PDP leader, Vikramaditya exhorted all the ex-servicemen to once again show the same determination and support PDP candidates in their respective areas.
Addressing a meeting of JK People’s Democratic Ex-servicemen Wing (JKPDESW) from RS Pura, Suchetgarh and Sainik Colony, Vikramaditya praised the valour, grit and determination of all servicemen of the State and reminded the gathering that J&K State came into existence only due to the sacrifices of all servicemen in the service of his forefathers.
He said that his family and the State of J&K will forever be in the debt of all those servicemen who have sacrificed their lives during building, extending and defending the boundaries of the J&K State.
He further said that the leadership of PDP is well aware of the problems being faced by the Ex-servicemen in the State and the first step when the PDP Government is formed will be to remove the imposition of High Value of VAT being levied on the CSD items and bring it at par with the neighbouring States of Punjab, Himachal and Delhi.
The reservation in re-employment of Ex-servicemen will be restored to the earlier 15% along with the Revenue Department being instructed to fast track all the revenue cases of ex-servicemen so that they do not face any problems due to their long absences while performing their duties for the country.
During the meeting many new office bearers of the JKPDESW were announced, who included PL Khajuria as State general secretary, MS Reen as District president, Jammu, Sardari Lal as Zone president, Suchetgarh and Satish Kumar Raina as Zone president, RS Pura.
