UDHAMPUR, Sept 11: Inhabitants of village Pingla (Pingla Mata) in Ramnagar area, which is without power supply for the last one month, held a strong protest demonstration against the Power Development Department (PDD), here today.
The protesting villagers raised slogans against the PDD authorities and threatened to block the Ramnagar-Udhampur road if the power supply is not restored immediately. They said that the Pingla village was not having power supply for the last one month due to damaging of two transformers and the PDD authorities were repeatedly apprised of the same, but no action was taken.
There is no power supply in the village as well as the shrine of Shri Mata Pingla Devi Ji, which is visited by a number of devotees while studies of students and children are also suffering because of the problem, they added.
