BASHOLI, Mar 6: Village Sandhar here in district Kathua is without any water supply for the last 18 days and the concerned authorities of Jal Shakti Department seems to be in slumber.
Panch, Anchal Singh of Panchayat Sandhar informed that about 300 households depend upon the water supplied by Sandhar Pumping Station which has its motor burnt about more than two weeks ago.
He said that the motor used to lift water from Charal Nallah which was then supplied to the people of the village.
Anchal Singh also said that even there is no filtration plant to filter the water of Charal Nallah before supplying it to the people in village Sandhar.
More Panches Narinder Singh, Mahatma Singh, Sarpanches and others demanded that the damaged motor should be repaired soon so that the people of the village may heave a sigh of relief.
They said that in absence of the water supply people are forced to get water from springs by travelling a large distance.
The villagers threatened protest if the water supply to Sandhar is not restored soon.
