POONCH, June 1: A villager was killed and his house partially damaged in lightning and thunder storm at Loran in Mandi area early today.
Police said the mishap took place at around 3.30 am when 45-year-old Mohd Shaban, son of Ali Mohd of Loran was sleeping in his room. Suddenly, during thunder storm, a strong beam of light hit his house. He also came under its impact. With serious injuries he was shifted to Mandi Hospital and then Poonch where doctors referred him to GMC Hospital Jammu. He died on the way near Surankote. His body was brought back to his home.
