Villagers protest

UDHAMPUR June 6:  Up in arms against no doctors in the Health Sub-Centre, inadequate number of teachers in the local Government school and no ration supply by the CAPD Department, villagers of Panchound in Latti tehsil held a strong protest demonstration near Tehsil Headquarters.
They raised slogans against the Government and demanded necessary action on their grievances. They also called on Tehsildar Latti and apprised him of the problems being faced by the villagers because of insensitive attitude of the administration towards their plights.
The protesting villagers said that the Government High School Panchound has about 300 students but only three teachers while there was no proper sitting arrangement in the school.
They also complained that the Panchound Health Sub Centre was without doctor while there was no ration supply to the village by the CAPD Department for the last five months.
Tehsildar Sushil Kumar assured the villagers that he would apprise the higher authorities about their grievances for necessary action by the concerning departments and district administration on priority basis.
Protestors were led by Girdhari Lal, Kunj Lal, Badri Nath, Ashok Kumar, Munshi Ram, Khem Raj and Mool Raj.
