UDHAMPUR, Jan 11: Locals of Chattrari in Block Dudu Basantgarh today protested deletion of their names in the ration cards, issued by the Department of Consumer Affairs , Food and Civil Supplies.
The protesting villagers, led by Sarpanch Vijay Laxmi, raised slogans against CA, F&CS and appealed the Lt Governor for his personal intervention to ensure that poor people may get ration.
They alleged that hundreds of names have been deleted from the ration card and the people in Majori were not getting ration from the Government depots for the last six months.
According to TSO Latti Marothi, the department has constitute a committee headed by the Tehsildar for inclusion of the left over names very soon.
