SAMBA, June 19: The villagers Rakh Kungwala in Samba district today protested against the encroachment of the way leading to this border village by a local person from the area.
The local residents Bari Ram, Kamlesh Devi, Kuldeep Raj, Jagdish Raj, Subhash Raj, Gyaneshwar, Sushil Kumar, Suresh Kumar, Veena Devi and Harvansh Lal who participated in the protest against the local resident for encroaching the path leading to the 100 residential houses in the refugee colony of Rakh Kungwala village said that there is a lot of anger among the people against the encroachment. They said that he also complained to the tehsildar of Revenue Department, who posted the Patwari on spot for verification.
The protesting women of the village said that when they went to the spot to stop the construction work, the land grabbers also assaulted and beat the women. They said that people also met SSP Samba, Shakti Pathak today urged him to take action against the land grabber.
The protesters said that SSP Samba, Shakti Kumar Pathak has assured them that appropriate action will be taken by the police on the complaint of the people.
