UDHAMPUR, July 7: Aggrieved over erratic power supply, villagers of Dhar road, Channi Morh, Kashirah and adjoining area today held a strong protest demonstration against the Power Development Department (PDD).
Raising slogans against PDD, the protesting people assembled at village Kashirah, Channi Morh Dhar road Udhampur and held a strong demonstration . They block the road for more than two hours.
They accused the PDD of failing to ensure regular supply of electricity and demanded replacement of the existing 125 KV transformer with 250 KV transformer.
“Our children are not able to get online education as their power-backed gadgets like computers, Phone Tabs, and internet remain non functional because of erratic power supply and extreme low voltage,” they said.
Later, Amit Verma, Tehsildar Udhampur; AEE Chopra, JE Romesh Verma, and other officers reached the spot and pacified the protestors by assuring necessary action over their demands. They assured that within 15 days transform will be upgrade to 250 KV following which the people lifted the road blockage.
